@slimshadie1290 Don’t jump the gun just yet. I’ve just uncovered a boost leak that starts at 20 PSI no less than 3 minutes ago. The same pressure the blows the tester off the inlet, and the same pressure where my logs start to fall off. If I’m going to dispel rumors about these things, I have to first get my facts straight or I’m doing none of you nor this turbo any justice. I’ll be happy if it just breaks even on what I had before.

@steveobarnes Yep. Someone beat me to it here. If Batman drives a Batmobile, then what does Jafro drive?

I’ve never spent much time in the DSM forums outside of doing research, but my participation has increased lately. My post count is ridiculously low for a member that joined in 2003 and still owns the same car. Most of my DSM knowledge was gained from hanging out with other DSMers, the factory service manual, and other media which pre-dates the forums.

Try swaping the wastegates from your old turbo to the new one. I hear the ebay wastegates are junk anyways and worst case you can rebuild those ebay turbos with real mitsu parts and your good to go.

Don’t let these videos dispell ebay turbos just yet. I LOVE mine. I think you got a boost leak. Cuz that 20g should be wanting to run upwards of 20-30psi. Ima look at some of my logs and see how my e316g flows in comparison so far.

After i bought my first Ebay turbo and blowin it no more than 40 miles after installing it, i learned my lesson. I would blame the compressor wheel design on those turbos. aside from that, from what i see here i’d say you your timing is too low, i would re-tune it. you gotta keep in mind that bigger compressor wheels also pump air a lot cooler. good luck!

@talontooner- 40 miles? Did u break it in? Pre oil it? Or did u just slap the chinese turbo that’s been sitting on a shelf for more than likely a long time with no oil in it and expect to hit 20+ psi in the first 40 miles? Ughhhhhh there’s your problem. A 270* oil bearing needs oil in it or your brand spanking new turbo will chew it self allllll to pieces.
